What motivates you to come to work everyday?
I love, love doing a job where people are just happy to see me, whether they are in some discomfort or not. I very much want people to experience the "care" part of healthcare, which is often sadly lacking in many instances.
What is your favorite part of your job?
Does anyone answer "charting", I wonder? I think my favorite part is those moments when I can help someone notice something that supports them, whether it's something to do with their body, their environment, or how they're thinking that will help them be more comfortable or in better balance in some way.
What is your favorite holiday?
New Year's, but mostly because we have a party with friends and chocolate every year
Tacos or pizza?
Pizza - better cheese delivery system
If you could be any animal, what would you be?
For today, I'd go with bunny - the crepuscular daily routine and cozy nests would probably suit me (but not so much the fecundity).
Steph graduated from Potomac Massage Training Institute and received an Associate’s Degree in Health Education from Montgomery College, both in 2005 and has made a career of working with people to better understand and support their own health and healing ever since. Steph has training in traditional massage work, neuromuscular therapy, trauma integration, and also has experience working with complicated medical needs and with people in all stages of life and at the end of life. Other specialized training includes Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, a very gentle modality that supports the nervous system. Steph's goal is to provide resources for integrating the body’s experience in a way that helps facilitate the ability to be present, enabling better access to one’s whole body, mind, and spirit.
Off the job, Steph is very involved in family, their faith community, getting lost in a good book, and enjoying nature whenever possible.
