What motivates you to come to work everyday?
Being the bright spot in someone’s treatment day.
What is your favorite part of your job?
When someone reluctant to try massage decides to give it a try and becomes a convert that looks forward to our time together.
What is your favorite holiday?
Mardi Gras has great energy, music, food, and a festive air. If you ever have a chance to go to New Orleans for the week, take the time and enjoy. Laissez les bons temps rouler!
Tacos or pizza?
Pizza in any of its varieties. I do enjoy Chicago deep dish pizza but I freely admit it is pizza pie, emphasis on pie.
If you could be any animal, what would you be?
Well, that’s an innocent looking question isn’t it? I am a big fan of wolves but wild living seems like a lot of never ending work. A well kept dog has all its needs met but lives in hope that someone will spend more time with them. Cats are the same but get to have attitude about it. I think I’m fairly content to be a human animal.
Ken began to work as a massage therapist in 2006 having started his massage training the previous year at AKS Massage School in Herndon, Virginia. His first course learning to work with oncology patients was in 2014 with none other than Cal Cates, who later ended up being his boss. After the medical spa he worked for closed, he came aboard with Healwell and has not looked back since. The time he spends with clients, learning their stories and how he can help them along their oncology journey, makes him feel that he is spreading some good in the world.
