Joanne Goodwin (she/her)
What motivates you to come to work everyday?
The chance that I can help someone feel better, even for a short time.
What is your favorite part of your job?
The work is quiet and gentle and can effect change. And I get to chat with interesting people.
What is your favorite holiday?
Thanksgiving and Passover have the best food and the winter solstice is full of hope.
Tacos or pizza?
Pizza
If you could be any animal, what would you be?
Either a Coquerel's sifaka lemur (watch a video of them bouncing along and you'll see why) or a ring-tailed lemur. I could talk a lot about how great lemurs are, but will not.
Joanne (she/her) uses Swedish and deep tissue to create a massage that focuses on the needs of her clients during each session. While she has begun to appreciate how light pressure can make deep changes, she can also provide deeper, focused work.
Joanne received her massage license in 2011 and is a certified craniosacral therapist. She has taught Swedish and deep tissue massage at Potomac Massage Training Institute.
Joanne is a rower and former runner. She and her husband have two dogs and foster other dogs.
