Healwell is pleased to partner with the Claudia Mayer/Tina Broccolino Cancer Resource Center to provide massage therapy ($100/session) for community members with acute, chronic, and serious illness. Our massage therapist specializes in working with pain, illness management, or a new diagnosis.

Payment: A credit card is required to schedule your appointment. Your card will not be charged until after the massage session.

What is oncology massage?

Oncology massage is the modification of massage therapy to safely work with the effects of cancer and cancer treatment. Everyone affected by cancer — people in active treatment, those in recovery or survivorship, those at the end of life, and even caregivers — can benefit from oncology massage. Can I tip my massage therapist?

Our massage therapists are credentialed healthcare providers and therefore cannot accept tips. You are welcome to express your appreciation by making a donation to Healwell.

How long are the sessions?

Each session is 50 minutes long. Please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to ensure you have enough time to park and get to the treatment room on time.

Can I get deep tissue massage?

Healwell massage therapists are trained in working with individuals living with acute, chronic and serious illness. Deep and vigorous massage may add to fatigue, compromise skin or bone integrity, aggravate the side effects of compromised blood cell counts or vital organ impairment, cause nausea, create unnecessary risk for someone with or at risk for blood clots, or trigger or exacerbate lymphedema.

Do I have to take my clothes off?

No. The massage therapist can adapt to work around and/or over any garments you choose to leave on. You can receive an excellent and complete massage fully clothed if that's most comfortable to you. If you do choose to disrobe, you will be covered by a sheet and blanket and your modesty will be protected at all times.
