What motivates you to come to work everyday?
Healthcare. :) No, really, it is healthcare -- how broken it is, how it doesn't support the humanity of patients or practitioners, and the fact that Healwell works to bring love and humanity back into care.
What is your favorite part of your job?
I love hearing the excitement of people who take our classes when they realize that what they learned has made lives better -- their own and their clients/friends/family.
What is your favorite holiday?
Samhain
Tacos or pizza?
Both -- but only if you put "Vegan dessert" in front of it
If you could be any animal, what would you be?
Cicada. I mean, who wouldn't want to nap for 17 years, wake up and party with all your friends in the warm sunshine, then go back to sleep?
In addition to being a valuable member of Healwell’s faculty and curriculum development team, Rebecca is also Healwell’s Education Director. She works tirelessly to organize existing courses and to create new opportunities for Healwell to offer meaningful and robust inter-professional education for massage therapists and other health care providers. Rebecca co-authored Oncology Massage: An integrative approach to cancer care (Handspring, 2021.).
As a former teacher of writing at the college level, Rebecca is passionate about the written word and about all forms of human communication. She seeks to create and support connection in everything she does.
