Day One: Techniques and Assessment
Techniques and Assessment is the first class of three. The student will become familiar with types of traumatic scarring and how to access what is going on with your client’s tissue. We will also discuss the important role inflammation plays in the healing process of scar formation.
Day Two: Nerves and Lymph
We will explore two very important systems that play a vital role in recovery and continued healing with traumatic scarring. This class will take an in-depth look at what effect scar tissue has on both systems and assessment tools for long-term recovery.
Day Three: Trauma, Pain, and Protocol
The final class is Trauma, Pain, and Protocol. We will take an in-depth look at the experience of your traumatic scar tissue client. How does the body hold trauma when scarring impedes quality of life? How does this affect your plan of care?
The student will become familiar with the most prescribed medications and their side effects when dealing with a client still undergoing treatment for their scar tissue.
