What does Healwell look for in a steward?

Healwell offers a unique program with a focus on hands-on application of skills and knowledge. As such, we expect our stewards to possess outstanding professionalism, integrity and communication as well as uncommon compassion. Healwell strives to train and cultivate the best health care practitioners. It is our responsibility to our profession to challenge massage therapists to achieve unparalleled clinical excellence. We are also dedicated to ensuring that only practitioners with strong intellectual, physical and emotional capabilities are permitted to touch patients, families and staff. Healwell places a high value on clear boundaries, compassionate care, effective communication, strong clinical judgment, physical and emotional stability, and overall adaptability. You must be able to perform the essential functions of a massage therapist and meet the standards of the curriculum. You must also be able to stand for up to three hours at a time without additional support. Please contact info@healwell.org if you have questions about accommodations or modifications that might be necessary in order for you to be a steward.

What are the expectations for stewards?

Stewards are expected to act in a professional, responsible and safe manner at all times. Of course, it is also essential that you have fun and prepare to be surprised. Bring your hands, your love, your brain and your curiosity. At the end of our 9 days together you will have made new friends and participated in an experience that is likely to transform you practice, whether you dive into hospital massage with both feet or return to private practice.

What about equal opportunity?
